Our words have such power, especially when it comes to words of affirmation. Consistently showering our children with words of affirmation is an essential part of living intentionally with our loved ones. This is especially true when it comes to the words we choose to speak to our children.
The truth is, our words can build up or tear down, and it takes so many more words to “undo” a harsh word using words of affirmation that it does to speak that one word of criticism. I don’t know about you, but I find this true even in the hurtful words that have been said to me.
Since we all blow it at times, having a quick list to reference for some inspiration in looking for words to build up my children, whether or not I am trying to recover from blowing it with a harsh word, has been such a vital part in my quest to be a more intentional mom.
