Isn’t it great when our kids love to read? The hard part can come in choosing what they are to read. I find this especially challenging when it comes to deciding what tween/teen boys should be reading.
Maybe it’s because I was a tween/teen girl, but I find choosing books for my girls to read to be so much easier than it is to find books for my boys to read.
I am very selective in what I allow my kids to read. There are so many choices out there that are not appropriate, so I have been very diligent in finding things that I feel appropriate.
I find one of the easiest ways to find things for my son to read is to ask other moms of boys whose opinions I respect. These are the sorts of moms who raise boys similarly to the way we raise our boys.
My son loves reading non-fiction, so that is always a great place to start. He loves books on WWI and WWII as well as books about military aircraft and various sports or historical figures. However, he does enjoy reading non-fiction, too.

I would add books by Ed Dunlop to this list: The Terrestria Chronicles, Tales of Terrestria series, Sherlock Jones series, Jed Cartwright series, and Young Refugees series. His books are spellbinding and have fantastic messages. My boys loved them all!
I can’t wait to check these out! Thank you so much for sharing! We have since found the Prince Warriors series by Priscilla Shirer. I highly recommend those as well!
