walk in the wordFriends are so important in our lives, aren’t they? I don’t know where I would be without my friends.

Obviously being female, I get girls and friendships, but boys and their friendships baffle me. Girls can be so fickle at times, but from the experience of my oldest son who is nearly 13, boys can be such fair weather friends! It seems as though they only want to be your friend if you have the right kind of entertainment for them. I have always found girls to be judgmental of other girls, but I never really imagined boys to be the same way, but it sure does seem as though they are – and worse sometimes!

I think teaching our kids to be a good friend is so important, and this verse is the perfect thing to do just that.

Today’s verse:

Proverbs 17:17

A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.

A true friend is a friend. Always. I think today, in our society of throw away this and throw away that and not really knowing people since we all “know” each other on social media, it is so difficult to teach our kids about what a friend is.

This is an excellent verse for our kids to memorize. Make it your walk in the word this week.
