Decisions are one of those things that I think  we get better at as we age, don’t you? I think when we’re young, it is so easy to be shortsighted in our decisions. Ideally, just as Lysa states in chapter six, we learn that the decisions we make matter, and hopefully we don’t take too long to figure this out.

Although even as adults it is nice to just make a rash decision, rash decisions have no place in our lives when we are trying to live by saying yes only to the Best Yes.

Lysa is spot on when she says, “Our decisions aren’t just isolated choices. Our decisions point our lives in the directions we’re about to head.”

From there she takes us through how it is beneficial and even necessary to work through the decision making process completely. Lysa is so right that our decisions are not just decisions. Our decisions really do determine where we are going.

In reality, our decisions aren’t just an isolated event. Our decisions are part of a process. They are only one small part of a very big picture.

As we move forward, we must remember this very important point. We must stop looking at our decisions simply as a decision, and we must remember that our decisions are only one piece in the overall puzzle that makes up the design of our lives.

This chapter was short and sweet, but this chapter was such a necessary stop to make. Our decisions, every single one of them, determine our future.

We must accept this. We must embrace this. We must allow this knowledge to transform how we make decisions from this point forward.

The thoughts shared in this post were inspired by chapter one in The Best Yes. This is a book that were are reading together as a community beginning February 22nd, 2016. We are reading just three chapters a week in this book.

Here is a bit more about our book club…

This book club is a way of encouraging others to carve out the time to read at a pace of just three chapters a week because I’ve learned that finding time to read never just happens on its own.

Every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday there will be blog posts here with Monday’s Inspirational Reads somewhere in the title with my reaction to each of the three chapters for the week, and then on Thursday evening at 9 pm EST we will be on Periscope discussing the chapters in an interactive format. You can find everything you need to know about Periscope by reading The Periscope Lowdown.

All you have to do is grab your book above, and you’re good to go! We’d love to have you join it, otherwise, grab your own copy and read any of the posts with Monday’s Inspirational Reads in the title and you can join in on your own time!

Welcome!!!
