I love lattes, but they are rarely in my budget, especially in the midst of the Living Well and Spending Zero Challenge this month. This is why I’ve learned to make them at home. Actually, my oldest daughter is now the official barista in the house as she whips one of for me nearly every day as well as a decaf one for herself and her sister.

She created a chocolate one that is to die for, at least in my book. Here’s how you can make your own chocolate latte at home. All you need is your coffee, some sugar, some cocoa powder, vanilla, and one of these cool foamers, which is totally worth the cost with all you will be saving yourself ordering lattes from someplace else.

This recipe makes two servings, so just cut it in half if you want, but trust me, you will want both servings anyway!

For this recipe you will need:

  • 13 ounces of milk
  • 1 Tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 6 Tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 8 ounces of coffee brewed stronger than you would normally drink it

First brew your coffee. In the meantime, combine the remaining ingredient, I just use a second empty coffee pot for mine, but you could mix it in a bowl or whatever you have on hand. When the coffee is completed, add it to the pot or bowl with the other ingredients. Give it a light stir, and then whip it up using this tool…MatchaDNA Handheld Electric Milk Frother, Silver
is so slick!

Really, it couldn’t be easier! Enjoy!
