I have been posting five things that I have loved each week for a while, and it is something that I love doing. It forces me to slow down and take notice of things along the way each week, and I always find that I have trouble narrowing it down to just five things.

If you have never tried this before, I highly recommend it. We can so easily remember all the things that went wrong in any given week, but it is remembering what went right that is such a blessing.

This dress. If you’re following me on Instagram you would have read about this dress. If you’re not following me on Instagram you can click on this link and do so.

But this dress. I bought it 18 years ago when I was still deeply entrenched in the grief of suffering a miscarriage at 12 1/2 weeks, hoping that someday we would have a baby girl who would be baptized wearing this dress. I wept in the store when I found it, and I wept throughout the entire purchase.

Today, September 11, 2016, baby girl #4 was baptized in this dress. This dress. It still gets me every time.

And do you know what? This baby girl #4 was named after baby girl #1 who is waiting to meet her in heaven some day. I just know they will be two peas in a pod.

It’s been 9 years since someone wore this dress. Sometimes there are just no words.

My new planner. Clean crisp pages, a cover that is completely intact, and oh the pretty colors and patterns, inspirational messages, and pages that are waiting to be filled with the amazing places I hope to go over the next year. Do you ever look at a new planner or a new calendar and really wonder what life will look like in a year if everything actually unfolds at all close to the way you think it will?

I think maybe the reason I’ve discovered that I love a great planner so much is because it’s all my hopes and dreams intermixed with the reality of everyday life. Everything is right there, mingling together and playing nice.

And a planner is a promise…all wrapped up in a pretty package, and what could be better than that? Here’s more about my planner in case you missed it.

This is my oldest with my youngest. I apologize that I can’t say much more…it’s been a really emotional day. But this picture, and the amount of sibling love their is in my family just makes everything worth it. Everything.

My new bathroom and laundry floor. It’s just one piece of things getting back to normal after my entire basement flooded last month. The rest of the basement is still a mess with drywall being installed and everything else that still needs to be done, but at least this little corner of my world is mostly done.

Family game time. Well at least most of the family. I am so thankful that my older kids are still willing to sit and play Chutes and Ladders with the young ones, and that my husband is around more than he ever has been to do stuff like this.
