Excuses. Are you good at making them? I know I can be.

I am generally one who only needs about five hours of sleep. This is both a blessing and a curse because the majority of the time I feel well rested on those five hours, but then there is the rare occasion that I don’t. Then, it can be hard to force myself to devote more time to sleep, even though I know I need it.

Last night was one of those nights when I was just feeling exhausted. It has been a super, crazy busy week full of challenges that never seemed to end. I do think that when we have been literally running from one end of town to the other, under unexpected stress and emotion, and challenged in numerous ways it just takes a toll on our stamina.

I think this is what happened to me.

For this reason, I went to bed at 10:00 last night and slept until 7:00 this morning. Mind you I’ve got a baby who got me up three times and a sick child who got me up twice, but this is nothing new. I don’t think I’ve had an uninterrupted night of sleep since I became a parent nearly 16 years ago. It’s fine with me, really, but the point is that I didn’t get a solid night of sleep for those nine hours, but it was still nearly twice as much time devoted to sleep as what I usually have.

I can say that I definitely needed that.

But, now it’s time for some serious motivation. All that stuff I needed to get done for two hours last night now needs to be squeezed in somewhere else.

For this reason, I needed a little weekend motivation.

Maybe you do, too. Maybe the theme from Rocky would also be good!

So, here’s your weekend motivation:
