I have been posting five things that I have loved each week for a while, and it is something that I love doing. It forces me to slow down and take notice of things along the way each week, and I always find that I have trouble narrowing it down to just five things.

If you have never tried this before, I highly recommend it. We can so easily remember all the things that went wrong in any given week, but it is remembering what went right that is such a blessing.

Kids who are able and willing to help, at least most times. This was a day that school took forever, so I sent my oldest daughter in to finish preparing dinner. I would be lost without kids who aren’t able to help. All the training in the early years is so worth it.

Teens. I am always amazed at how my teens challenge me while also giving me an opportunity to grow every day. Teens can be a challenge, but watching them blossom is such a blessing. This is a text I sent to my oldest (15) when she was asking about watching a certain show that I am on the fence about. She really is old enough to start standing up for the things she stands for…which means I have to give her the chance, even if she chooses wrong sometimes.

A wonderful and unexpected nap with the baby. I was supposed to be working…

My slip covered couch. Love being able to make it look new again. Here’s everything drying outside earlier today.

New canvases. I lose count of how many I have, but they make me so happy.
