Summer is often filled with glorious weather and days that seem to last forever. Kids and families often have more time, and it’s the time we start thinking about making some amazing family memories before the back to school frenzy starts all too soon. Now is the perfect time for a summer bucket list of things your family can do.

But, it can be a challenge to come up with just what to do. Oftentimes we are just looking for a list of simple things we can do to make the most of those summer moments.

Is this you?

With 8 kids of my own, I understand this struggle.

I’ve put together more than 30 ideas and activities that we’ve done over the years, and I’m so happy to share them with you.

That way, you’ll have less time to stress about what to do and more time to spend actually making the memories this summer.

These ideas are primarily cheap or free, and they are most likely using things you’ve already got. If not, you can get your hands on these things fairly easily, I’m guessing.

Ready to have some fun with your family?

Here’s the summer bucket list you’ve been looking for!

Have a lemonade stand

This is usually so much fun and takes little to no effort. While waiting for customers to come by, you’ve got time to spend talking, reading, or doing whatever else it is that you and your kids enjoy doing.

Have a water balloon fight

Does this take some time to put together? Yes, but the results are so worth it. The squeals of delight you hear from your children will be some of the best you’ll hear all summer!

Paint with water

It’s as simple as grabbing a bucket or bowl and some old paintbrushes. Then, let your kids “paint” with it outside. The sky is the limit!

Run through the sprinklers

Ideally, this means you, too. Sometimes when we get home from a super sweaty game or event of some kind, we just turn on the sprinklers and let all the kids run through. It so much fun, especially if they do it with their clothes on. And, you’ve most likely gotten the shower thing all taken care of in one event alone!

Play frisbee

This is such a simple game, but it can be so much fun. It’s great exercise, and it takes little to no effort or skill.
