walk in the wordI chose this verse for today with my daughter in mind. She has a performance audition this week, and she is feeling insecure about it.

She is an amazing player and she practices nearly 10 hours a week every week as she plans to make music her career. However, for the past year she has completely bombed any and every audition opportunity.

It makes no difference how she prepares, it is all about her nerves. It has been nearly six months since she has had any type of audition, so I am hoping this is a phase that is over since it was never a problem prior to this past year.

It is so hard as a mom to be out in the hallway listening to her bumble and completely blow the audition with mistake after mistake when I have heard her play it flawlessly countless times at home prior to that. I’m not sure who the experience is more traumatic for, honestly.

When I know my kids will be struggling with something they have to do, I like to find a relevant Bible verse to pray over them during the days learning up to the event. Our last moments in the car are always spent in prayer before they leave.

With this in mind, this is the verse we will be focusing on during the first part of this week.

Isaiah 40:29

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
