Another week is behind us, and Sunday has arrived. We have had a cold and dreary week, which allowed us to focus on school a bit more since we didn’t have the distraction of the neighborhood kids around because school hasn’t started for them yet. It is so hard for my kids to concentrate on school when all the kids are running around in the neighborhood.

First of all, I apologize for my lack of pictures. I am not currently able to get any pictures off my phone and onto my computer. Trying to troubleshoot this has not been fun today. Obviously I’m having no luck…but I wanted to get this to you since I do every Sunday.

I have said it before, but I really love reflecting back on my five favorite things throughout the entire week. If you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend it!

This week these have been my favorite things, and I do always hear the song from The Sound of Music when I talk about my favorite things. I guess I’ve listened to the Disney station on Pandora a few hundred times!

5 things I love this week

A park visit with my friend and her kids. It had been way too long. Somehow with 11 kids between us, it is always so hard to take the time. I tend to wait until the calendar is less scary, but then it gets to this time of the summer when I realize that it never has…so we just do it anyway. It was a great time.

Slower work pace. I have appreciated a slower work load this week. I look at less available work as God’s way of telling me that I need to slow down since I can be very bad at this on my own. I have had time to take on some different projects with a bit more free time. It has been nice to do those random things that are so hard to find time for otherwise. And, I watched the sunset. Twice.

Going back to church. I have missed church. We were on vacation for a couple of weeks, and then we were home with a sick child, so we have not been in almost a month. Although my younger boys were quite a handful, it was nice to get back into the norm again.

My husband was home a couple of times and actually didn’t have homework. It was nice to have him spend time with the family. This free time is also what made it possible for my next favorite thing.

Game night. We had game night. It is always so nice to watch my kids have fun playing together. This time, there was absolutely no fighting as a result of a few of my kids who are sore losers by nature. If you have more than one child, you may understand how rare this is. It was just an all around good time.

These are the five things that have made me pause this week. What have you loved? Feel free to share in the comments.
