I have had an amazing week. There have been some definite ups and downs…maybe I’ll share some of these with you sometime, but at this point I’ll just say that I have faced some devastating news this week that could be a HUGE game changer in my life.

I don’t know about you, but when these kinds of things come about, I am left to dig really deep to find the inner strength I need to keep going. I often see trials and challenges as a reminder that I need to get my priorities back in line. I cling even more tightly to my faith, and I simply move forward because really, what else can I do?

This has made for some amazing experiences this week. I have enjoyed working out on my deck, and this is where I have found the most amazing peace that has washed over me.

It seems a bit hard to believe, but it is often though the hard times that I see things in more vivid color.

Here are the five things I’ve loved this week.

This sunrise

I know I have shared pictures of sunrises and sunsets before, but they are really such moving experiences for me when I take the time to look and really drink them in.

Working on my deck

There were no bugs, it was the perfect temperature, unseasonably warm for September in Michigan, and it was so quiet. This is still my #2 this week despite the fact that it soon started raining even though it wasn’t supposed to rain.

Date night

My hubby and I had a date night. I had a working date planned, but he in all his wisdom kidnapped me and brought me to the outdoor mall up the street to walk around. I will admit that I had a BAD attitude going in since I hate shopping, especially when I have no money to spend on anything, but it ended up being an amazing time. We talked, we laughed about a joke we played on people at his work while there, and we just forgot about life for awhile, which is exactly what we all needed. I wish I had thought to take a picture, but I did not.

A lunch date with my Little Princess

Totally unexpected and really annoyed to do it in the first place, but it ended up being an amazing time.

Reading

I have been intentionally making the time to read regularly again this week. It had been sporadic at best lately, but I actually took my own advice from one of my Periscope broadcasts this week and took these little pockets of time for myself.

What have you loved this week? Please share in the comments!
