As someone who has lived in Michigan my entire life, I am very familiar with Henry Ford Health
System. The expertise found specifically at The Henry Ford Heart & Vascular Institute is second
to none, but what makes the care they provide truly extraordinary is their heart (no pun
intended) to really provide the public with both care and information that speaks to each

This quiz is super easy and quick to take. All you have to do is plug in some of your basic health
numbers, and what you’ll get in return is a personalized assessment that shows where your
specific health risks fall.
Some are things you can’t do anything about such as your age and family history, but there are
so many factors that you really can control when it comes to achieving overall heart health.
With the results from the quiz, you will have some actionable steps to take to improve your
But, it’s one thing to know about what it takes to be healthy, and it’s quite another to make
good health decisions actually happen.
With this in mind, I’ve got 5 powerful tips for busy women who want to make healthy choices.
Start with a goal
What does being healthy look like to you? Is it about being a healthy weight, keeping up with
your kids, or something else? If you could choose what excellent health would look like for you,
what would that be? Start by making some health related goals, but make them measurable,
attainable, yet also challenging enough to be something you have to strive for.
Create some action steps
Once you’ve defined some healthy living goals, it’s time to actually make those goals happen.
And, this won’t happen without some targeted action steps in place. Action steps provide the
pathway to goals becoming a reality. Don’t skip this important step.
Put these things in writing
The best way to make sure you don’t accomplish any goal or action steps is to keep these things
inside your head. Putting them on paper makes them a bit more real, and it also makes you a bit
more accountable to actually getting them done.
Decide on an incentive
Incentives are great. An incentive as a reward is an excellent way to jumpstart your healthy
lifestyle goals. This is especially true when it comes to making the necessary changes where your
heart health is concerned.
When you make good choices and improvements to your health – celebrate your hard work! So
often we are great at beating ourselves up when we fall short, but you also need to get good at
celebrating when you do things right. Progress is progress, and any good health choice is worth at least a pat on the back.
As busy women, it can be so hard to actually do the things we know we should be doing. But,
health isn’t something any of us can afford to put on the back burner.
Become educated about the simple things you can be doing to start making healthier choices
even if life keeps you very busy. Checking out all the resources that amazing organizations like
Henry Ford Heart & Vascular Institute and Henry Ford Health System Women’s Heart
Center offer is an brilliant way to make sure that you’re doing everything you can to be
the very best you.
