This classic chocolate pudding is to die for, and if you have never had pudding made from scratch then you have no idea what you have been missing. The pudding from a box can be quickly, but it in no way compares in terms of flavor or texture.
Most likely you have everything you need to make this already on hand, and it is something that is great to make when you are already standing in the kitchen making something else anyway.
If you have never had chocolate pudding from scratch, you have got to try this out!
For this recipe you will need:
- 1/2 cocoa
- 1 1/3 cup sugar
- 8 Tablespoons flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 1/2 cups milk
- 3 Tablespoons butter
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
Directions:
Combine cocoa, sugar, flour, and salt in a large saucepan and whisk to combine. Next, add the milk in gradually. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly. It will thicken as it heats. Bring to a boil and continue boiling and stirring for one minute.
Remove for heat, add butter and vanilla. Stir to combine. Chill and serve!
