Water is so important year-round, but especially during the summer. It is amazing how much water we lose on a daily basis, and this is only multiplied when the weather gets warmer.

Making sure to drink enough water is important when trying to lose or maintain weight as well because often when we think we feel hungry we are often dehydrated.

I go through phases where I’m really diligent in drinking enough water. And then, there are other times when I stink at it.

I certainly find that if I intend to drink enough water and not really come up with a game plan to make it happen, it rarely happens.

One of the simplest ways to drink more water is to make sure it’s on your daily to-do list. We’ve got a free to-do list template. Just tell is where to send it!

Have a specific water bottle or cup to make drinking water easier

If you have one specific water bottle or cup that you keep only for this, you are more likely to drink more water since every time you look at it, you will remember to drink. Make sure you know how much water that cup or bottle holds. This is important in keeping track of how much water you are drinking. If you don’t know how much it holds, it’s nearly impossible to know how much you are actually taking in.

Flavor your water – especially if you don’t like it

There are so many simple ways you can flavor your water. I enjoy a little lemon or lime juice, but there are many other options out there, too. Sometimes I will flavor my water bottle of water with some slices of lemon and stick it right in the fridge for a bit. You can also do this with a pitcher.

Leave your cup or water bottle where it is visible

Again, so you will see it and remember to drink it.

Mark it with daily water drinking guidelines so you know how much water you’re drinking

For instance, draw a line on it or use some tape to make a mark where you need to drink by mid-morning. Then, draw a line for lunchtime. Another for mid-afternoon and so on. Use these as guidelines to make it as simple as possible to reach your water goal by the end of the day.

Use an incentive to drink more water

I love my coffee. I allow myself one cup in the morning and one cup in the afternoon. Before I’m allowed to drink a cup, I need to drink an extra 8 ounces of water. This ensures that I’m replacing the water that the coffee takes out of my body.

Summertime is the perfect time to make sure you’re drinking enough water.

Use these simple tips to make sure you’re getting enough.

Wondering how much you should drink? There are some who recommend taking your bodyweight in pounds and dividing it in half. This should be the number of ounces you drink every day.

If you workout or spend a fair amount of time, you should increase that amount. If you have been sweating all day, that number should be higher as well.

how to create an effective daily to do list

I think we all know that water is a very good thing. But, it can be the doing part that is so difficult.

Use these tips to start drinking more water today! You’ll be amazed at how good you feel when you’re properly hydrated every day.
