This is an amazing alfredo sauce, and it is so EASY to make! I had no idea it could be so easy.

Pasta is a great way to feed a family economically. There are decent jarred Alfredo sauces out there, but nothing compares to one made from scratch. I have tried numerous recipes, and I eventually ended up combining what I liked from some of them and then modifying them in my own way to my liking. This was by far my favorite and a favorite among the troops, and it still is to this day!

One of the best parts about this recipe is that it smells just like Olive Garden in my kitchen when I am making it. I find the leftovers are even better the next day!

For this recipe you will need:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 cloves minced garlic (sometimes I even use more!)
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 4 cups half and half
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste

Cook whole box of pasta. Meanwhile….melt butter, throw in minced garlic and cook down for a minute or two. Add flour and allow to come together and thicken and brown just a bit.

Next, add half and half and let cook till it thickens, about 12 minutes. Add salt and pepper.

Remove from heat and add parmesan cheese. I also throw some grilled chicken in with the sauce at this point at times. Mix into pasta. Yum-O!
