walk in the wordWith the craziness of all the end of the year activities combining with the beginning of all the summer activities already, it has felt a bit like I’m just trying to keep my head above water. I’m not the only one, my kids are being pulled in all different directions, meals are being eaten in the car or at 10:00 at night, and our calendar makes everyone’s head spin.

Of course everything new is exciting while the end of the year things are not so much. For this reason, I have chosen this verse for us today.

We have all worked hard throughout the year, I have a couple of kids who are pulling straight A’s even, but if we don’t remain focused on finishing strong, we are not doing justice to all the work we have done this far. We need to exercise a healthy dose of perseverance as we finish strong.

This applies to me, too. I have some loose ends to tie up with my husband’s school semester (I handle all the behind the scenes scheduling etc.). Important things like ordering transcripts, but I have been so focused on all the new things going on I didn’t do this last week when I should have.

Today’s verse:

Hebrews 12:1

There, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

As you face the craziness of the week ahead of you, may this verse give you the focus you need to finish strong!
