olive garden salad dressingWe are having salad with our meal tonight, and this dressing is to die for, really. It is so good I could eat it in a bowl, with a spoon. Yes, it is that good, and oh yes I could eat it with a spoon, on the moon, Sam I Am.  Wait, too much reading today, apparently.

It took me awhile of tweaking this and that, but I have finally gotten what tastes just like Olive Garden salad dressing, simply by trial and error.

Making your own salad dressings is always very frugal, but it is also much healthier because you can control everything that goes in. This is a favorite of everyone in my family.

For this recipe you will need:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise, not Miracle Whip
  • 1/3 cup white vinegar
  • 1  1/2 tsp. vegetable oil
  • 2 T. corn syrup
  • 1 T lemon juice
  • 2 T. sugar
  • 4 T parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic salt
  • 3/4 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp. dried basil

Just mix everything together well. I save myself a step by just mixing it in the lidded container I am going to store it in and shake well. Just make sure your lid fits tight!

Enjoy either on a salad or in a bowl with a spoon 🙂
